Megan Faulkner, CPA

As a native of a small town in central Illinois, Megan learned the value of hard work in all aspects of her life.  Through participation and leadership roles in various sports and volunteer organizations, and working in her mother’s sewing business starting at age 12, she developed the motivation to succeed at any goal she chose.  After high school, Megan attended Eastern Illinois University to pursue a degree in business education, a path she became interested in due to her love of her high school accounting class.  At EIU, she found greater enjoyment in her classes on accounting than teaching, and changed course, full-steam ahead, toward a career in accounting.  Megan graduated from Eastern Illinois University after only 3 ½ years with a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude.  Needing additional college credits to become eligible for the CPA exam, Megan continued at EIU to pursue an MBA with an Accountancy concentration, fully funded by the Illinois General Assembly Scholarship and EIU’s Graduate Assistantship tuition waiver.  Megan used her spare time during her husband’s deployment to Afghanistan to study for and pass the CPA exam.  She earned her CPA certificate in October 2012 and became an Illinois licensed CPA.

Megan began her career at LWH CPAs as an intern while earning her MBA. She has continued with the firm and was admitted to the partnership in 2021.  She serves clients from the firm's Casey and Paris, IL offices, and serves as partner-in-charge of the Casey office. During her time at LWH CPAs, Megan has primarily focused on tax services, with an emphasis in estate, fiduciary and exempt organization work. She enjoys developing new staff and is involved in the firm’s recruiting efforts.  Additionally, Megan serves as the chairperson for the firm’s Taxation committee.

Megan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. She has been involved with the Casey Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves as the Treasurer of Casey Industries, Inc., and Past-President of Eastern Illinois University’s Accounting Advisory Board. Megan resides in Casey, IL with her husband, Mitch, and their daughter, Sophia.
